APRIL 2019 PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE The Strategy of Competing for Novice Competitors I’ve been to our first events of the year and was very impressed with the number of first-time competitors in both novice and open divisions. With that being said many novices who are first time competitors place in the top 3 in the open division thereby qualifying them for a Pro Qualifier. It is important for novice competitors to be aware that experience at regional contests is needed to do well at Pro Qualifiers. Many of you will be in a line up with up to 20 or more other experienced competitors at any of the Pro Qualifiers. Strategy, patience and experience are important factors in pursuing your IFBB Pro Card and a possible career in the fitness industry. The tier system has been set up in favor of competitors, in other words you will not be penalized when competing in another regional contest, natural or open, if you are already qualified to a Pro Qualifier. Think about it! You just competed in your first contest in March of this year. You placed in the top three in a class of 4 competitors, now you are qualified to compete in a Pro Qualifier up to December 31st of 2020, your thinking perfect,
