Trace Elliot Pro Series Cabinets
Trace Elliot has returned its focus to large venue environments with the introduction of the Pro Series 4x10 and 2x12 Cabinets . The Trace Pro 2x12 cabinet pairs one coaxial 12-in . driver with a 12-in . woofer-only complement so that the unit can handle the complete sonic palette of the bass guitar . A dual-plane baffle with the coaxial driver is mounted on the slanted portion for better HF ( high-frequency ) dispersion .
Both Trace Pro Series cabinets handle over 1000W of true RMS power ( conservative ) at eight ohms , and a newly-designed crossover improves overload protection , the company says . Dual parallel Neutrik Speakon 1 ⁄ 4-in . combination input jacks expand connectivity options .
Each Trace Pro Series cabinet is built using reinforced 15-mm poplar plywood construction covered in a durable , weatherresistant two-stage epoxy coating with added metal corners . A top recess accommodates the TE 1200 bass amp head , and the drivers are protected during transit by a magnetically attached cover . Each cabinet comes with rubber feet for use in any orientation . Handles are found on all four sides and high-quality 3-in . locking casters are included . Additionally , foot recesses on three sides allow for solid and attractive horizontal and vertical stacking with other Trace Pro Series cabinets .

D ’ Addario has announced that its XS Acoustic strings are available in 80 / 20 Bronze , which it the series ’ brightest string offering . The portfolio now offers XS Acoustic players the choice between Phosphor Bronze and 80 / 20 Bronze in the most popular gauges .
The XS features an ultra-thin film coating ( 1 / 10 th the thickness of a human hair ) that completely protects the wound strings from corrosion , without dampening the tone . This new film covering is combined with D ’ Addario ’ s dispersion coating , used in its XT line , to protect the plain steel strings as well .

Cort Guitars has introduced its GB-Modern bass guitars . The GB- Modern 4 ( four-string model ) and GB-Modern 5 ( five-string ) each offer a lightweight design for improved comfort , as well as specification enhancements that further improve their playability .
Cort took a new approach with a 34-in . scale body ( 35-in . for the five-string ) that reduces weight , and player fatigue , without carving out large sections of wood . The result of these efforts is a maple body core paired with lightweight paulownia wings . On the top , there ’ s a poplar burl in a choice of Open Pore Vintage Natural or Open Pore Charcoal Gray finish . While each individual GB-Modern will vary slightly as they are each made unique pieces of wood , the GB-Modern 4 averages a weight of 3.5 kgs ( 7.7 lbs .) and the GB-Modern 5 tends to weigh in at about 3.8 kgs ( 8.3 lbs .).
