Evans Drumheads dB Reduced- Volume Drumheads & Cymbals
Evans Drumheads has introduced the dB range of reduced-volume drumheads and cymbals . The dB product suite includes the dB Zero , a rebrand of the SoundOff mesh drumheads , and the debut of dB One drumheads and cymbals .
Drummers have two options with these new products . The dB Zero reduces the drumhead ’ s volume to the lowest level possible and is ideal for silent practice and use with drum triggers and sensors . With dB One , drummers can maintain their acoustic kit ’ s natural tone and feel , but at only 20 % lower volume compared to traditional acoustic heads .
Available in patented tom , bass , and snare heads , dB One drumheads experience an authentic bounce and attack with ShockWeave Mesh , Kinetic Transfer Foam ( KTF ), and dB One ’ s Impact Patch striking surface . Additionally , the wire-free Snare Sim treatment tackles the buzz and crack of acoustic snares at a reduced level .
The dB One cymbals are designed to balance and match with the dB One heads as a system . In addition , each cymbal features Evans ’ patented dBalance technology , a volume-reduction system punched directly into the nano-plated stainless alloy surface in a spiral pattern . This approach to attenuation achieves a chime and resonance as articulate as many full volume sets , but at 20 % lower volume .
Caveman Audio AP1 Compact Acoustic Preamp
Caveman Audio has introduced the AP1 Compact , an acoustic preamp that gives acoustic guitar players the same tone as its AP1 Acoustic Preamp , but with a significantly smaller footprint . Since the goal is improving the core guitar tone , its purpose is not to act as an effects pedal , but rather to serve as an always-on component in the signal chain .
Understanding that the sheer preamp design is not the only component capable of enhancing the fundamental sound of an acoustic guitar audio signal , Caveman Audio also focused attention on suppressing noise and avoiding impedance mismatch in the electronic design that surrounds the preamp circuit , which includes transformer-balanced DI output and unique RFI protection – all of it housed in a road-ready , zinc-plated steel enclosure .
Orange Amplification O Bass
Orange Amplification has launched the new , updated O Bass , retaining features from the 2015 model , but enhanced with improved characteristics .
The new model still features the single cutaway body shape , tone options , and an unorthodox split-coil pickup position . On the 2022 model , the lightweight African okoumé wood body has a resonance that transfers better through the custom-wound split-coil humbucker pickup and gives more articulate high end and tighter low-end notes . The purpleheart fretboard gives the instrument improved balance , whether played seated or standing and the retooled fretwork and neck moulding increases playability .
Designed in the U . K . by Orange , the O bass is suitable across different types of music including soul , R & B , reggae , and rock . It is supplied in a padded gig bag with the Orange logo and comes as standard with an alternative three-ply scratchplate . The Orange finish comes with a white scratchplate and an alternative black scratchplate .
