DANKO JONES

On his white Hagstrom Ultra Max custom guitar
My most cherished instrument is my white Hagstrom Ultra Max custom guitar . I ’ m with Hagstrom guitars , but this guitar went through the hands of my guitar tech , Tim Hughes . He took the Ultra Max and fitted it with only one Seymour Duncan bridge pickup and gave it a white paint job . I love Ultra Max Hagstroms and I ’ ve been playing it all summer at all the festivals . Word is going around it ’ s the most beautiful guitar in Europe right now .

JOSH PASCOE OF FRESH BREATH

On his Gretsch G5620T semi-hollow guitar
There are certain moments in life that are forever burned into your memory . Instantly changing your path as your eyes open to possibilities never before imagined … For me , it was the moment I picked up my Gretsch G5620T semi-hollow , centre block , single cut-away electric guitar in competition blue .
You see , I was looking for inspiration , having just parted ways with our long-time band mates . Heading in a new direction , veering from loud , fast , riff-based rock to more lyric-driven , alt-folk stories in song . It was August 11 th , 2015 . August , of course , being “ Fender Month ” at my local Long & McQuade , it was a perfect time to go guitar shopping . Knowing Fender manufactures a number of different brands as well as their flagship models , I knew I was in for a long day of “ kicking tires ,” if you will .
I walked through the heavy glass door . My eyes were drawn immediately to the overwhelming beauty and awe-inspiring wall of electric guitars . I feel as though only guitar players can properly understand this feeling . Looking back and forth , my head resembling an oscillating fan on a hot summer day , and … there it was ; The Gretsch G5620T semi-hollow , centre block , single cut-away electric guitar in competition blue . I slowly grabbed the neck , sat this work of art on my lap and began to pluck a few notes . No word of a lie , the long day of kicking tires was thwarted . This was the only guitar I played that day . It felt perfect , it looked perfect , it played perfect . The rest is history . It ’ s been in my hands for every live gig and studio session since . I haven ’ t put it down .
