Third Round of Artists Revealed for Nova Scotia Music Week Music Nova Scotia has announced the third round of artists who will perform at Nova Scotia Music Week ( NSMW ) 2022 , which is taking place from Nov . 3-6 in Sydney , Cape Breton . This will be NSMW ’ s 25 th anniversary event .
The latest round of artists includes @ TheWillPike , Andrea Cormier , Angela Iannetti , aRENYE , Avery , Beauts , Botfly , Carleton Stone , Christopher Brown Trio , Chudi Harris , Dada Boii Kinz , Daniel James Mc- Fayden , Dumpster Mummy , Dylan Devoe , G-Tips , Hailey Smith , Hearts of Kin , Jayden Austin , Jordyn , Keats Conlon , Laura Gallant , Leon Mellow , Leona Burkey , Mackie , Mark ’ D , Natasha Sophia , Persephone , Rankin Macinnis , Raslaxx , R . I . T . C . H . I . E , Skunk Motel , The Town Heroes , Vormir , Waants , and Willie Stratton .
Owned and operated by Music Nova Scotia , NSMW is a public music festival and B2B music industry conference that celebrates the music of Nova Scotia . First held in 1997 , it attracts over 1,100 music industry professionals and 7,000 members of the general public .
MusicNL Set for 30 th Annual Music Celebration Week MusicNL will host its 30 th annual Music Celebration Week from Oct . 26-29 , 2022 , in Corner Brook , NL . The host hotel will be the historic Glynmill Inn . Music Celebration Week will include artist showcases , workshops , panel discussions , and MusicNL ’ s annual general meeting .
MusicNL members and delegates can use code “ 22MNL754 ” for benefits if they ’ re flying to Corner Brook on PAL Airlines . MusicNL will also be offering a travel subsidy for members travelling to Music Celebration Week .
Members can submit travel claims to have up to 50 % of eligible travel expenses covered . The final percentage reimbursed by MusicNL will be determined by the total amount of claims versus the total budget for the subsidy . Members should make sure to keep all receipts . Eligible expenses include airfare , ground transportation and vehicle rental , mileage when using a private vehicle , accommodations , and per diems .
Music PEI Reviews Finances & Personnel Changes at AGM Music PEI held its Annual General Meeting on July 19 , 2022 . The organization ’ s draft financials were reviewed and approved with minor changes . The net surplus for this past fiscal year is $ 11,428 , bringing the retained earnings to $ 253,616 . Music PEI staff presented reports including Rob Oakie ’ s Executive Director Report , Steve Love ’ s Programs and Workshops Report , and Andy Glydon ’ s Community Outreach and Communications Report .
Nikkie Waite and Mark Watts were reelected to serve a full three-year term with the board . Also , Music PEI want to recognize the ongoing commitment of Liam Corcoran , Jessica Smith , Partick Bunston , Natalie Williams Calhoun , Max Knechtel , Lindsay Schiek , Evan McCosham , and Jon Matthews . As his term as board president ends , Iain McCarvil will be moving into the role of past president .
This transition marks the closure of Catherine MacLellan ’ s time as Music PEI ’ s president . Her commitment to Music PEI over the past several years has been integral to the growth of the organization . MacLellan has provided guidance , insight , and compassion over her years on the board as its president , the association says .
Music PEI also extends its appreciation to Emmanuelle Leblanc , Joce Reyome , Tamara Steele , and Tyler Gould for their time on the board as community representatives of the Acadian , 2SLGBTQIA +, Indigenous , and Black communities , respectively . With their added experience , Music PEI has begun the important work of increasing the representation and contribution from these historically under-represented communities . It welcomes Charles Aondo as he takes on the role of Black community representative by the recommendation of Tamara Steele .

Music BC Adds New Videos Modules to Career & Professional Development Toolkit Two new video modules have been added to Music BC ’ s career and professional development toolkit for artists and industry . Jumpstart Foundations is an on-demand video series presented by industry professionals and specialists .
The first of the new video modules is Music Business Fundamentals : Managing Your Creative Project with Nancy Lee . This session walks through the necessary steps to lay a solid foundation for a start in the music business , including strategies on managing a creative project , building and planning a budget , as well as best practices for keeping motivated , organized , and on schedule .
The second module is Introduction to Music Conferences & Showcasing : Making the Most of Your Experience with Savannah Wellman . This session introduces the world of music conferences and industry showcasing , including what the key markets and events are available , when to start seeking these opportunities , and best practices to making the most of the trip . For artists , the session offers tips on how to tailor their performance for an industry audience . For professionals , the session offers tips on how to plan and prepare for an upcoming conference as well as common missteps to avoid .
