‘ SoundCloud for Artists ’ Creator Portal Launches
Streaming platform SoundCloud has launched SoundCloud for Artists , an all-in-one dashboard for artists to connect with fans and aid their careers . SoundCloud for Artists is designed to be a centralized home for artists ’ distribution , promotion , monetization , and more . This stems from SoundCloud acquisition of Report is 2019 , and the originally launch of Repost by Sound- Cloud as a marketing and distribution platform .
As part of this launch , SoundCloud has renamed subscription plans as such : SoundCloud Basic is now Next ; Repost is now Next Plus ; and Pro Unlimited is now Next Pro .
The new , streamlined SoundCloud for Artists dashboard provides simplified access to all of a subscriber ’ s monetization , distribution , and promotional tools in one location . As well , through “ artist insights ,” they can get more information on who their biggest fans are and what tracks they ’ re listening to the most .
SoundCloud says that all existing tracks and releases have already been automatically migrated to artists ’ new dashboards , which can now be found under their new SoundCloud for Artists account .

CMRRA Hires Elyssa Macri as Director of Communications & Industry Relations
The Canadian Musical Reproduction Rights Agency ( CMRRA ) has announced Elyssa Macri will take on the role of director of communications and industry relations . Macri will oversee the Communications and Industry Relations team and will report to CMRRA and SX Works President Paul Shaver . She joined CMRRA on Oct . 17 , based in Toronto . The CMRRA represents the majority of music publishers doing

business in Canada — licensing , collecting , and distributing royalties for the majority of songs recorded , sold , and broadcast in Canada .
Macri will lead strategic communications , marketing , events , and sponsorship opportunities , elevating the CMRRA brand within the global music industry . She will work closely with other members of CMRRA and SX Works to develop strategies that support CMRRA ’ s client base and amplify the work of both organizations . Macri will also serve as a key liaison with Canadian industry organizations .
Macri previously served as director of marketing and communications at The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences ( CARAS )/ The JUNO Awards , where she led the direction and execution of various strategies in support of all Juno Awards programs and initiatives . She is a graduate of the Media , Theory , and Production dual-degree diploma program between Western University and Fanshawe College , where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media , Information , and Technoculture and a diploma in Radio Broadcasting . The latest international initiative is by U . S . -based company Sound Royalties in is Toronto and is being led by Vanessa Thomas . Thomas has more than two decades of music industry experience , including six years running Canada ’ s Songwriters Hall of Fame as part of her work with SOCAN .
The Canadian Sound Royalties team joins other international representatives in England and South America . These new affiliates will follow the same approach designed to maximize musicians ’, songwriters ’, labels ’, and other music businesses ’ ability to thrive financially , according to Sound Royalties . In addition , they will help the company forge new partnerships and relationships to boost the music business in their regions .
