Earthworks SV33 Studio Vocal Microphone Earthworks has launched the SV33 front address car- dioid condenser, the company’s new flagship studio vocal microphone. The SV33 features hand-tuned circuitry paired with a 14-mm capsule. Incorporating Earthworks’ po- lar technology, the SV33 is designed to deliver a car- dioid polar pattern that is consistent up to 80 degrees off-axis. This performance allows the singer to move freely in front of the microphone without sacrificing timbre or level. It also has very low handling noise and a built-in windscreen to prevent plosives. The SV33 rejects unwanted sounds at the rear of the microphone, while any sounds that come in off-axis sound natural and uncoloured. The SV33 has a frequency response of 30 Hz to 33 kHz ±2dB at 5 in. with self-noise of 15dBA, yielding a 79dB S/N ratio. Its maximum acoustic input level is 145dB SPL. Godin Session Custom T 59 Godin has released the Session Custom T 59 guitar with an updated high-gloss coral blue finish and vintage ashtray bridge. Like the original Session Custom, this guitar features Seymour Duncan ’59 humbucker and Godin “Cajun Custom” single-coil pickups. Other features include the high-definition Revoicer (HDR), five-way pickup selector, and five-ply tortoise shell pickguard. The vintage sounding ashtray bridge is fully adjustable and is designed to deliver the sustain and punch of fixed bridges. The HDR revoices and augments the frequency range of each pickup and allows the player to go from passive to active pickups instantly. The HDR provides extra bite, dynamic response, and redefines the character of each pickup. It’s like having two sets of pickups in one guitar for five pure passive tones and five pure ac- tive tones.
