Honey Jam Announces Pop-Up Audition in Halifax
While in Halifax in May for the ECMAs , Honey Jam will be holding a pop-up audition at the Lighthouse Arts Centre on Sunday , May 7 for emerging female artists aged 14-25 interested in trying out for its artist development youth program and concert . This is the first time the live auditions are being held outside of Toronto . Nova Scotian artists such as Reeny Smith , Zamani , Jet Lyse , and Lindsey Misener have all participated in past years . The Halifax auditions will mirror the same process as what happens at the Toronto auditions , where artists get just 60 seconds to impress the judges . Those interested should email hjartistinfo @ gmail . com with their bio and socials by May 1 , and they will receive a reply with all of the details . All genres and cultures are welcome !
Honey Jam is a non-profit youth programme run by PhemPhat Entertainment Group established in 1995 for young Canadian female artists of all cultures and representing all genres of music that provides mentoring , educational , performance and networking opportunities culminating with a showcase of live music . Honey Jam organize impactful experiences for the artists such as songwriting camps , industry workshops , mentor cafe ’ s , tickets to major artist concerts , opportunities to attend industry events , paid performance opportunities and interactive sessions to learn from major artists . Alums include Nelly Furtado , LU KALA , Haviah Mighty , Jordan Alexander ( Gossip Girl ), Jenna Walker of the Reklaws , Jully Black , Melanie Fiona , Savannah Re and many more .
Tanya Van Luven Joins SOCAN as Director of Publisher Relations

SOCAN has announced that Tanya Van Luven has joined its team in the new role of Director of Publisher Relations , within SOCAN ’ s Membership department , and based in Toronto .
Van Luven has more than 13 years of professional experience in music publishing and the music industry . She specializes in music licensing , rights management , and intellectual property management and negotiations . She ’ s focused on bringing solutions to serve SOCAN ’ s publisher members .
As Director of Publisher Relations , Van Luven have a decisive impact on the quality of the services SOCAN offers to publishers , both at the strategic and operational levels . At the same time , she ’ ll focus on creating , fostering , and maintaining relationships with the publishing community , and going beyond their immediate concerns through various initiatives and projects .
Van Luven joins SOCAN after serving as Manager of the Client Services Division at Anthem Entertainment , a SOCAN publisher member . There , she worked with a team of client service managers to ensure regular income analysis , ongoing accurate registrations of new works , fulsome collection of all publishing royalties in adherence with contractual agreements , while delivering transparent , accurate , and timely distributions of royalty statements to clients .
Before that , she was Anthem ’ s Senior Client Services Account Manager , Film & TV . She delivered , among other things , content for audiovisual secondary rights , music publishing , music licensing , production music , and digital monetization and rights management .
Tanya began her career in the music industry in 2008 , when she joined Warner Music Canada as National Promotions Coordinator . She then moved to Artist Services , where she focused on the various revenue streams of an artist ’ s career , offering services in artist management , merchandise production , VIP ticketing , and e-commerce .
