MELODNA came into the game with her debut single “ KRYPTONITE ,” with a few additional singles and her debut EP “ KEEPSAKE ” releasing in February 2021 . She kicked off her first year with a series of noteworthy performances including Canadian Music Week Showcase , Regina Folk Festival , and Breakout West .
MELODNA continues to work with multi-talented Walter Jeworski as her mixing engineer at Blue Door Recording Studios . MELODNA ’ s music goes from R & B style serenading to hip hop to Afro-infusion . Her newest single , “ ROTATION ” has been featured on Eric Alper ’ s 360 : Indie playlist . Unwilling to be bound to any one genre , MELODNA aims to downpour her musical creations anywhere she can .
The Flakes was founded in 2017 by guitarist Adam Sweeney and drummer Kyle Merson . They ’ ve been on a rampage in their native Nova Scotia and beyond ever since they hit the scene . Bigger shows like the Mount Funky music festival have helped the band begin to make a name for themselves , and a particular highlight the band has seen so far was an appearance at Toronto ’ s legendary Horseshoe Tavern .
The Flakes released their nine-track LP , Elephant in the Room , in November 2021 and work on its follow-up , Pink Jetstream , started in April 2022 . The band ’ s sound blends dreamy guitars and vocals with unorthodox rhythms and melancholy atmospheres .

Selfish Bodies is an alternative poprock trio based in Edmonton , led by frontwoman Brandy Sharpe . The band combines a love of writing with genreblending , cinematic soundscapes and thoughtful lyrics . The group formed in February 2018 and released their first single of 2023 , “ Hideous ” in January , followed by their newest release , “ Disassociated ”, in February .
Selfish Bodies hold the belief that music is a universal language . What does the band want to say ? Whatever their listeners need to hear . Selfish Bodies ’ collective goal is to connect with their listeners through the creation of relatable and heartfelt content .
