Nominations for the 22 nd Annual Jim Beam INDIE Awards Now Open
Canadian Music Week has announced that nominations are now open for the 22 nd Anniversary of the Jim Beam INDIE Awards .
Part concert and part award show , the Jim Beam INDIE Awards are a celebration of new music and the artists and teams who inspire the independent spirit , both nationally and internationally . Nominations are being accepted through indies . ca until April 8 , 2023 . Artists or their representatives ( including labels , producers , managers , agents , publicists , and publishers ) can submit their nominations . To be considered for the 2023 Jim Beam ® INDIE Awards , the national music release dates must fall between the eligibility period of Jan . 1 , 2022 , and April 1 , 2023 .

Side Door Announces ‘ On the Road with Side Door ’ U . S . Touring Program
Side Door has announced the launch of its new incentive program , ‘ On the Road with Side Door .’ The program is available to Artists showcasing at Folk Alliance International ( FAI ) in Kansas City or South by Southwest ( SXSW ) Conference & Festival in Austin , playing ticketed Side Door shows between January and March 2023 , and ensures a $ 200 USD guarantee for artists . The guarantee is in addition to the net ticket revenue split from shows .
Artists can create a profile on Side Door ’ s website , select their desired dates / show locations with a Show Call and connect with Side Door ’ s music venue hosts directly to book shows . Artists can also use Show Calls to attract new hosts from within their existing fanbases . Artists who have completed this process can submit an application for a chance to receive the show guarantee .
Guarantees in the program are issued on a first-come-firstserve basis . Artists can apply for any number of Side Door shows as part of this program . Side Door strongly encourages applications from under-represented groups . Applications with diverse programming and shows that promote under-represented voices will be prioritized .

Blue Moon Marquee Sweep Maple Blues Awards with Four Trophies
The 26 th Maple Blues Awards were presented in January to a sold-out audience at The Harbourfront Centre Theatre , with 15 awards going to deserving Canadian Blues artists . British Columbia-based Blue Moon Marquee led the way
BLUE MOON MARQUEE with four wins , including Acoustic Act of the Year , Recording / Producer of the Year for ‘ Scream , Holler , Howl ’, Songwriter of the Year , and Entertainer of the Year . Ottawa ’ s Angelique Francis won two Maple Blues Awards for New Artist of the Year , and Bassist of the Year .
Long-time blues DJ Patrick Monaghan of Ontario was presented with the Blues Booster of the Year award , honouring his 40 + years of promoting and sharing Canadian blues music . Another esteemed award for a long and illustrious career , the Blues With A Feeling ( lifetime achievement ) went to Harrison Kennedy .
The performances at the 26 th annual Maple Blues Awards included Meghan Parnell and Dave Barnes of Bywater Call , Kevin Harvey and Neil Elsmore of Durham County Poets , AV ( Ann Vriend ), Blue Moon Marquee , and Paul Reddick with Kyle Ferguson . All were backed by the house band and newly signed Cordova Bay recording artists The Maple Blues Band . The 26 th annual Maple Blues Awards were hosted by multi-talented powerhouse Quisha Wint , who also closed the show with a powerful performance .
