The early-bird deadline with a discounted application fee of $20 is March 31. The final deadline with an application fee of $25 is May 15. The Halifax Pop Explosion festival and conference is a four-day, city-wide music takeover that attracts some of the top buzzed-about Canadian and international talent, as well as industry professionals from around the world. The 15 th edition of the event will take place from Nov. 18-21, 2020. An administrative fee of $45 is required for each application. The deadline to apply is April 1 st and the fee is $45. Mundial’s aim is to present the best of Canada’s world music, as well as some interna- tional artists. The event offers various activities where artists’ official representatives can meet delegates and develop business relationships to generate future opportunities. AT BREAKOUT WEST 2018 BreakOut West Artist Submissions Now Open ZAKI IBRAHIM AT POP MONTREAL Artist Submissions Open for POP Montreal 2020 Artist submissions are now open to play the 19 th edition of the POP Montreal International Music Festival, happening September 23-27, 2020. The deadline to apply is April 30, 2020, and the submission fee is $30. Each year, the five-day festival presents more than 400 artists to over 60,000 fans and industry delegates across multiple venues in downtown Montreal. The festival includes concerts, symposium discussions, artisan and visual art exhibitions, fashion shows, film screenings, and all-night parties. Showcase submissions are now being accepted for the 2020 BreakOut West Festival, which is taking place from Sept. 30 th to Oct. 4 th in Winnipeg. Submis- sions close on March 18, 2020 and the submission fee is $45. All showcase artists must be resi- dents of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Al- berta, British Columbia, the Yukon, and/ or the Northwest Territories, for at least six months between Jan. 1, 2019 and March 18, 2020. In the case of groups, 50 per cent of the members must meet the residency requirement. The next-generation specification enhances virtually all aspects of 1983’s original MIDI 1.0 spec, allowing for more nuanced expressiveness, higher reso- lution, and increased ease- of-use, as well as backward compatibility with existing MIDI 1.0 devices.
