HOT GEAR Aguilar Amplification Tone Hammer 700 Amplifier Aguilar Amplification has released the Tone Hammer 700 amplifier. Aguilar’s Tone Hammer preamp, which is also found in the Tone Hammer DI/preamp pedal, gives the Tone Hammer 700 its flexible tone-shaping capabilities. The 4.9-lb. amplifier delivers 700 continuous watts at 4 or 2.67 ohms, 350 watts at 8 ohms, and features bass, treble, and fully-sweepable midrange controls. The Drive control utilizes Aguilar’s AGS circuit, which adds subtle distortion and midrange punch to the sound. The Tone Hammer 700 also features a series effects loop, XLR balanced output, and two rear-panel Speakon outputs. Universal mains allow the amp to be used anywhere in the world. One Control Jubilee Red AIAB Distortion Pedal One Control, in collaboration with pedal de- signer Björn Juhl, has introduced the newest addition to its BJF collection of effects, the Jubilee Red AIAB. Using the latest of Juhl’s “Amp-in-a-Box” (AIAB) circuits, the Jubilee Red is a modern high-gain distortion pedal with tonal roots descending from the Silver Jubilee series of British amplifiers that were created in the late ‘80s. With the Jubilee Red AIAB, guitar- ists have access to one of the highest-gain distortions that One Control has released, with enhanced midrange control as well as low noise performance. The pedal pairs well with either humbucker or single coil pickups, including more modern high-gain and active designs. It is also well suited to handle the additional low end of seven- and eight-string guitars.
