Women of NAMM ’ s Leadership Summit to Welcome 17 Female Leaders Across Music & Audio Products Industry Women of NAMM ( WoN ) has announced the 17 emerging female leaders participating in the WoN Summit , which is being held from Oct . 17-19 , 2022 , at NAMM ’ s headquarters in Carlsbad , CA . Now in its third year , the WoN Summit is an intensive , three-day leadership immersion experience designed to support women working across the industry and their goals to connect , support , and grow their leadership and professional abilities .

The return of the Summit was announced earlier this year at the Women of NAMM ( WoN ) gathering at The 2022 NAMM Show . Council co-founder Robin Walenta also announced that in tribute to the memory and lasting impact of industry philanthropist , business leader , wife and mother Diane Martin donations made in her honour to WoN Fund will help continue to ensure that WoN will create opportunities for women across the music , sound and live event industries to connect , support and grow . The MIDI Association Announces MIDI 2.0 Development Tools The MIDI Association has released details of the ongoing , industry-wide initiative by over 50 MIDI Association companies to develop MIDI 2.0 products and services . Despite the challenges presented by the pandemic , MIDI Association members have addressed these challenges through global collaboration and cooperation .
Yamaha Corporation has funded the development of the MIDI Workbench , a software tool for MIDI 2.0 testing and compliance developed by Australian Andrew Mee . Mee has also updated firmware for the TB2 Groovesizer , an Open Source MIDI 2.0 hardware synthesizer developed by Jean Marais , a South African living in Taiwan .
Canadian-based company AmeNote , founded by industry veterans Mike Kent ( chair of the MIDI 2.0 Working Group ) and Micheal Loh ( founder of iConnectivity ), has designed ProtoZOA , a flexible Raspberry Pico based prototyping tool for MIDI 2.0 .
To accelerate MIDI 2.0 development , the MIDI Association has helped fund ProtoZOA ’ s technical development and donated ProtoZOAs and TB2 Groovesizers at no charge to any MIDI Association member who wanted to join the prototyping effort .
Registration Now Open for the OMEA / CMIEC ’ s 2022 Conference & Trade Show for Music Educators The Ontario Music Educators Association ( OMEA ) and the Coalition for Music Education in Canada ( CMIEC ) will present their next annual conference , called Elevate 2022 , from Nov . 3-5 at Blue Mountain Resort in Collingwood , ON . The event brings together music educators and advocates for a multi-day conference and trade show where they can learn and share ideas . Registration is now open .
The opening night reception on Nov . 3 rd will feature award-winning instrumentalist Joy Lapps and Grammy-winning Canadian drummer , producer , composer , and educator , Larnell Lewis . They will also each present a workshop the following day . The Gathering Sessions ( formerly called keynotes ) will include Twin Flames and the Ontario Provincial Honour Band ; Mind-Blowing Facts About the Brain , the Body , and Music ; A Social-Emotional Health Phenomenon ; and more .
