D ’ Addario XS Coated Strings D ’ Addario has introduced the XS coated strings . The company says these new strings offer longer life with improved strength and stability without sacrificing tone .
D ’ Addario says it implemented new manufacturing processes combined with well-known innovations – like NY Steel high-carbon cores in the wound strings and Fusion Twist technology in the plain steels — to give the XS strings significantly better break strength and tuning stability .
The XS strings feature a new , very thin film coating ( one-tenth the thickness of a human hair ) that protects the wound strings from corrosion , but without dampening the tone .
This new film covering is combined with D ’ Addario ’ s dispersion coating , used in its XT line , to protect the plain steel strings as well . XS strings are available in phosphor bronze string sets for acoustic guitar , 12-string guitar , and mandolin in the most popular gauges .

PreSonus MicroStation BT Bluetooth 5.0 Stereo Monitor Controller PreSonus has released the MicroStation BT Bluetooth 5.0 stereo monitor controller , which is designed to be a compact , convenient , and stylish way to receive audio from a phone , tablet , or other Bluetooth source and feed it to full-range powered speakers .
The MicroStation BT also can be hardwired to a powered subwoofer to create a 2.1 listening environment . Users can quickly pair their Bluetooth-enabled device and a stereo 1 / 8-in . input enables hardwiring of an audio source when the user doesn ’ t want to use Bluetooth . A Bluetooth On / Off button lets them toggle between Bluetooth and analog sources . Balanced left and right 1 / 4-in . TRS inputs route audio from pro audio hardware , such as an audio interface , to speakers and subwoofer .
Users can connect a powered subwoofer using either the balanced 1 / 4-in . TRS or unbalanced RCA Subwoofer outputs . Kawai KDP75 & KDP120 Digital Pianos Kawai has added two models to its KDP series of digital pianos . Those are the KDP75 and KDP120 , which replace the KDP70 and KDP110 , respectively .
Upgraded attributes include a quieter action , connectivity to Kawai ’ s Piano Remote and Piabook apps for iOS and Android , and Low Volume Balance , which balances the tone when played at low volumes . Both models feature improved Shigeru Kawai concert grand samples , which provide significantly enhanced piano samples . The company says the new highlight is the Low Volume Balance , which adjusts keyboard touch and piano tone characteristics , allowing pianissimo passages to be played smoothly and more naturally when playing through speakers at a reduced volume setting . Featuring Kawai ’ s Responsive Hammer Compact II ( RHCII ) keyboard action , the KDP120 is designed to deliver a touch that feels and responds like an authentic acoustic grand piano action .
