Sheptone Miles Single-Coil Bass Pickup Sheptone has released the Miles single-coil bass pickup , which is designed to accurately reproduce the tone of the milestone Fender 1951 Precision Bass .
Sheptone says the Miles bass pickup stays true to the original design specifications in order to make a contemporary bass guitar sound like a vintage classic . The construction begins with vintage-accurate fiberboard flatwork and Alnico 5 magnets . Plain enamel magnet wire , 42 AWG , is scatterwound for great harmonics and stringwrapped to protect the single coil . The average resistance is 7.32 kiloohms .
The single-coil design of the Miles bass pickup has a dynamic response that delivers classic , smooth sound with a fat , yet tight low-end , according to the company . By rolling back the tone , players can walk into a classic upright bass riff .
