Arturia KeyLab Essential 61 & 49 MIDI Controllers Arturia has introduced 49- and 61-note additions to its KeyLab Essentials range that come with bundled plug-ins and a DAW .
Both the KeyLab Essential 61 and 49 models have velocitysensitive keyboards and pitchbend / modulation wheels , as well as eight RGB backlit performance pads , nine faders , and nine rotaries . There is a DAW command centre and transport section and the user can commit one set of DAW mappings to memory for easy recall .
Users can also store one set of assignments for controlling the Analog Lab 2 software that comes in the box . This contains more than 5,000 keyboard sounds from Arturia ’ s back catalog of virtual instruments . Other bundled software includes Ableton Live Lite and the UVI Grand Piano Model D .

GHS Lengthened Short Scale Bass Strings GHS Strings has announced that its short scale bass strings are now longer . The updated bass strings are designed to work with short scale bass guitars where a little extra length is required , such as those that use a tailpiece or are strung thru-body .
Traditionally , the winding length ( ball end to taper / silk ) of a short scale bass string has been 32 in . GHS has been working with Scott Whitley , bassist for Big Country and short scale instrument designer , and their partnership resulted in a new short-scale bass string length of 32.75 in . The result is the same strings now in a winding length more conducive to a wider range of short scale basses .
GHS short scale bass strings in the updated 32.75-in winding length are available now in the following ranges : Short Scale Bass Boomers ; Short Scale Pressurewound ; Short Scale Phosphor Bronze ; Short Scale ; Precision Flats ; and Short Scale Brite Flats .

Softube Console 1 Mk II with UAD Powered Plug-Ins Support
Softube has released the Console 1 Mk II , a more affordable version of its hardware / software mixing system that features support for select UAD Powered Plug-ins from Universal Audio .
Originally released in 2014 , Softube Console 1 featured tightly integrated hardware and software , and the included emulation of a Solid State Logic SL 4000 E console . The Console 1 Mk II features a significant software update with support for 60 UAD plug-ins , all pre-mapped and easily selectable so no MIDI mapping is necessary . The hardware has also been updated with some minor layout changes , such as more visible LED markers .
