Jay Perry Joins AVL Media Group as Audio Product Technical Support Specialist Montreal-based AVL Media Group – the NorthAmerican distributor of Lab Gruppen , Klark Teknik , Turbosound , Midas , Tannoy , Zero-Ohm Systems , and Spotlight – has appointed Jay Perry to the position of audio product technical support specialist .
Perry comes to AVL from Points East AudioVisual where he was owner and chief consultant . The company specialized in design , sales , and installation of professional audio , video , and lighting systems throughout the Atlantic Canada region . In his new role , Perry is responsible for working with consultants , designers , dealers , and integrators in Canada and the United States to support all the AVL professional brands .
Commenting on the appointment , Perry says , “ I love diving in headfirst to solve client problems and solve them with creativity using the best brands available . I ’ ve known Steve [ Kosters ] and Andrew [ Hope ] for many years and have watched AVL grow into one of the premier distributors in North America . Needless to say , I am very happy to be onboard .”

Cor-Tek Acquires the DigiTech / DOD Brand from Harman South Korean company Cor-Tek Corporation , maker of Cort guitars , has announced its acquisition of the DigiTech / DOD brand , including all DigiTech / DOD intellectual property and assets .
The announcement was made by Cor-Tek Corp . President Jun Park in a letter to customers and media in late April . “ Since 1973 , DigiTech / DOD guitar effect pedals have been iconic in the guitar industry , and we have a deep admiration for the heritage and legacy of the DigiTech / DOD products . We look forward to continuing the manufacturing and selling of the iconic products as well as investing in new features and products ,” Park said in his brief statement .
DOD effects emerged in 1973 with Digitech launching in 1984 . They are known for the Whammy , Overdrive Preamp 250 , Gonkulator , and Phasor 201 pedals , among others . The DOD effects later got folded into the DigiTech brand , but it ’ s been in limbo since 2018 when the owners at Harman International fired the DOD / Digitech engineering team as part of a restructuring of its development facilities and staff .
