MUSIC ED MUST-ATTEND SESSIONS AT THE 2023 NAMM SHOW

Please join us in Anaheim , CA where NAMM Foundation events will once again be featured as part of The 2023 NAMM Show from April 13- 15 . The NAMM Foundation offers more than 90 professional development sessions , career-expanding programs , and networking opportunities to support college music students and faculty , teachers , and music service organizations working to create the next generation of music makers . A central focus for this year ’ s NAMM Show is the inaugural Million More Music Makers initiative designed to support teacher training in classroom guitar , ukulele , and bass .

MUSIC EDUCATION DAYS
Music Education Days features 50 + sessions for K-12 and private teachers in technology , curriculum , and in NAMM ’ s Million More Music Makers initiative . Designed to inform and engage music teachers with the tools relevant to today ’ s music classrooms , sessions , demonstrations , and workshops are presented in collaboration with American String Teachers Association ; California Music Educators Association ; Guitar and Accessory Marketing Association ; Guitars for Vets ; Guitars in the Classroom ; Langley Ukulele Association ; Make Music Alliance ; Music Will ; National Association for Music Education ; Save the Music Foundation ; Technology in Music Education ; Sound Health Network ; and the Music Achievement Council .
Session highlights include “ From Performing Musician to Classroom Guitar Teacher ,” a hands-on workshop for performers who wish to expand their skills to become artists-in-residence in schools or teach in private studios ; “ Elemental Ukulele : Pathways and Possibilities in The General Music Classroom ,” a two-part series that draws from principles of the Orff Approach ; “ Demonstration of a Ukulele Lesson For Children ,” where participants can enjoy a lesson with master teachers ; “ Modern Band 101 : Drums , Vocals , and Bass Focus ,” a hands-on introductory course to modern band ; “ String Teaching Simplified Workshop : Teaching Strings for the Non-String Player ,” a threehour immersive workshop presented by the American String Teachers Association .

A collaboration between The NAMM Foundation and The College Music Society , GenNext offers 27 + sessions for college music students and faculty . Sessions highlights include “ The Inside Scoop of Working in the
Music Software Industry ,” featuring panelists from some of the most popular music software brands in the market ; “ How to Stay Out of Soul Crushing Student Debt and Get a Career in Audio that Doesn ’ t Suck ,” a deep discussion about mentorship and career paths in professional audio ; “ Making and Repairing Guitars for a Living ,” featuring a panel of iconic luthiers ; “ Hip Hop ( R ) evolution : From the Bronx to the World Stage ,” with renowned producers and artists in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop ; and “ Gold Gigger : 15 Proven Tips for Getting Gigs ,” “ Artists : Get Your House in Order and Get Paid ,” and “ Be Marketable !
