Product News PRS S2 McCarty 594 Guitars PRS Guitars has announced three additions to its S2 Series lineup: the S2 McCarty 594, S2 McCarty 594 Singlecut, and S2 McCarty 594 Thinline. These solidbody electrics deliver vintage-inspired appointments and represent the first time a McCarty model has been offered outside of the PRS Private Stock and Core lines. The S2 McCarty 594 family features 58/15 “S” pickups and dual volume and push/pull tone controls for authentic humbucking tones and nuanced single-coil sounds. The modern construction is designed to ensure the guitars play in tune and stay in tune, and are intonat- ed the entire length of the neck. Each of the S2 McCarty 594 instru- ments features 22-fret mahogany necks with bound rosewood fretboards, as well as the PRS zinc two-piece bridge and vintage-style tuners. Both ma- ple top versions, double and single cut, sport a Pattern Vintage neck shape while the new S2 McCarty 594 Thinline features a thinner one-piece, all-mahogany body and a pattern-thin neck shape. LR Baggs Soundscape Pedal with Voiceprint Technology LR Baggs has introduced the Soundscape pedal with Voiceprint technology, which measures the acoustic response of the guitar and leverages the process- ing power of the player’s smartphone to accurately capture the guitar’s voice. A Voiceprint is created and loaded to the Soundscape pedal, replac- ing the pickup’s signal. Guided by the Acoustic Live app and impulse response technology, guitarists can use their smartphone like a studio in their pocket to capture a Voiceprint of the acoustic guitar. Developed with Dr. Jonathan Abel, co-founder of Universal Audio, the LR Baggs Voiceprint technology utilizes an algorithm that measures the acoustic guitar by analyzing its actual timbre and playing response, then creates a customized preset for live play, as well as for direct recordings. Every Voiceprint that is created identifies the guitar’s specific resonances that are prone to feedback and creates an Anti-FB profile to manage feedback with one control on the pedal. The app also provides advanced features such as a graphical full-parametric EQ for balancing each preset to the player’s taste.
