Grammy-winner Alan Meyerson is a go-to mixer for many of the most prominent film composers of the modern era , such Hans Zimmer , James Newton Howard , and Henry Jackman . As well , Meyerson ’ s credits include blockbuster movies like Man of Steel , Iron Man , 2019 ’ s The Lion King , Dunkirk , and many others . Currently his base of operations is at Hans Zimmer ’ s Remote Control Productions complex in Santa Monica , CA , where he has come to rely on a number of key pieces of gear , including the AT5045 cardioid condenser instrument microphone from Audio-Technica .
“ My dear friend Al Schmitt , may he rest in peace , recommended AT5045s to me , as he had just used them as drum overhead mics on a project with Steve Gadd . And my attitude has always been , ‘ If it ’ s good enough for Al , it ’ s good enough for me !’ His recommendations were always on-point ,” Meyerson says . “ Now they ’ ve become an integral part of my drum setup because they ’ re really clear and they ’ ve got an extended top end . I also love the fact that they ’ re easy to place – in a busy session , it can be frustrating work to get mic placement just right , but I don ’ t have to struggle with the AT5045 . And it ’ s a nicely compact-sized mic , which just makes it all the more flexible to place in different situations .”

Bassist / vocalist Shaun Munday has joined the Phil Jones Bass ( PJB ) roster of endorsing artists . Munday performs as a soloist and has also accompanied artists including Robert Cray , Aston Barrett and the Wailers , Collin Raye , and Devon Allman among others . His creative technique and dynamic visual performances have made him a YouTube phenomenon and has inspired an enthusiastic following .

Lo , Chris Brown , Justin Bieber , Trey Songz , French Montana , Lil ’ Wayne , Tyga , Cam ’ ron , and 50 Cent , among others – has recently added some new KRK gear to his studio . He now turns to his ROKIT 8 G4 White Noise and V6 studio monitors in the studio , paired with KRK ’ s 10s subwoofer and KNS 6400 headphones to complete his production setup .

Whalum began his career as an in-demand session player with artists like Barbra Streisand , Al Jarreau , Luther Vandross , Quincy Jones , and most notably Whitney Houston with whom he recorded the famous sax solo on “ I Will Always Love You .” A successful career as a solo artist followed with numerous hit soul / jazz and gospel recordings .
