Ingredients

Sesame Crust
2 Tbsp. sesame seeds
1 Tbsp. curry powder
2 tsp. coarsely
ground pepper

beef tenderloin
steaks (about 4
oz. each)
PAPAYA COCONUT SALSA
1 cup
chopped
papaya
1/4 cup flaked
coconut,
toasted
2 tbsp. sweet (or
regular) chili
sauce
1 Tbsp. chopped fresh
mint (or 3/4
tsp. dried)
1 Tbsp. white wine
vinegar
We’ve paired
this steak with a
wonderful tropical salsa.
Choose a papaya with
a firm (never wrinkled)
skin that gives slightly
to palm pressure and is
changing from green to
yellow.
Spicy Sesame-Crusted
steak
1. Combine THE first 3 ingredients
in shallow baking dish.
2. Preheat electric grill for 5
minutes. Press edges of steaks in sesame
seed mixture until coated. Cook steaks on
greased grill for 5 to 7 minutes per side until
desired doneness. Transfer to plate. Cover
with foil. Let stand for 10 minutes.
3. Papaya Coconut Salsa Combine all
5 ingredients in small bowl. Makes about 1
1/4 cups (300 mL) salsa. Serve with steaks.
