I
f a single element had to be
picked as the inspiration behind
this two-story lakeside home, it
would have to be the sight-line
of the spectacular waterfront
on Kempenfelt Bay. And with
this in mind, almost every room
in the house was designed to
capture this beautiful view.

A tasteful amount of reclaimed barn
board is a key part of this rustic and
warm environment, where cool chrome
lights and accessories are combined with
sleek lines and warm tones, for a home
that oozes modern comfort.
The first floor is divided into three main
hubs – the master suite, the great room
and the kitchen/dining room.
The open concept kitchen and dining
area is a combination of clean lines and
cool tones. However, it is the walnut
wood accents that add a touch of
warmth to the space. The island, an agate
counter top full of beautiful greys, blues,
creams and browns is the centrepiece of
the house. From this, we picked all the
exterior and interior colours. The rest
of the kitchen is outfitted with every
imaginable gadget from hidden
appliances to a modern
built-in coffee maker.
To frame out the
finished space, we
used white leather and
oak bar stools, and
contemporary dining
chairs.
