Aurora Cannabis

(TSX:ACB) (FSE:21P) (OTC:ACBFF)

Aurora Cannabis has invested US$2.5 million in Hempco Food and Fiber Inc. (CSE:HEMP) with option to raise its stake to majority ownership. This move may be a signal of Aurora’s interest in gaining market share in the health supplement business, perhaps joining other cannabis titans CannTrust and Canopy Growth as leaders in this pet segment in the not-so-distant future.

With legalisation a stone’s throw away, pet owners will have cannabis readily available if they so choose. Responsible pet owners will need to do their research, and hopes for a progressive future for treating our furry friends with cannabis is inching closer and closer to fruition. The recent news of Canopy Health and CannTrust is certainly garnering optimism. As the stigma surrounding cannabis use subsides, anecdotal evidence fades, and concrete evidence is presented, there is no doubt in my mind the pet market will be accepting of CBD-based treatments. Could this be a boon to informed investors? Stay tuned!
