True Leaf Medicine is in the final stages of its license application to produce medical marijuana under Canada’s Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR), and recently announced the finalization of their purchase of 40 acres of land encompassing the site of their Lumby, BC facility, expected to be completed this fall. Its True Leaf Pet hemp-based nutritional treats for pets have entered the Canadian, US and European natural pet product market with a product line consisting of hump functional chews and supplemental food products for pets. In addition, the company expanded its pet product offering by acquiring OregaPet and their established line of natural remedy products and significantly boost its in-store presence. Just a few days ago, it announced the appointment of Dr. Katherine Kramer, DVM, as Founding Chair of its Veternary Advisory Board. She is considered to be a pioneer in the field of cannabis study as it relates to animal care. Its fiscal year 2017 revenues were $1.4 million, a 280% increase year over year, and True Leaf Pet products are now in more than 1,800 stores worldwide and sold on Amazon.

Liberty Leaf Holdings, a recent CannaInvestor Magazine Canada featured company for good reason, announced just a few days ago the results of its clinical trial testing the efficacy of CBDs in relieving canine osteoarthritis, which is a condition that includes hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia and degenerative joint disease. These medical conditions are common in many dog breeds. The drug trial took place for six to eight months as part of an overall three-year collaborative research agreement with Esev R&D LLC, an Israeli-American research and development company. The study was on large mixed-breed dogs only, but they received CBD-infused formulation (or placebo) orally, which was determined to be the most effective method of delivery for dogs. Focus was on treating dogs with chronic osteoarthritic pain, one of the most common diseases in dogs. Results of this trial indicated that after four weeks of using CBD-infused oil, there was a significant reduction in pain and improved functional performance in all but one 16 dogs in the study
