I believe that we can agree on the above points. The following are key timeline events that are also factual:

Cannabis has been used for thousands of years. The year 2727BC appears to the first physical evidence of cannabis used medically (trivia – ever wonder why Tinley’s drinks have the number “27” in their name?). In 1621, we see evidence of cannabis being used in different parts of the world to treat depression. Before prohibition, cannabis was an ingredient in hundreds of medicines. Hemp was also used widely in medicine and food as early as 6000 BCE. For those interested in the history of hemp medicine click here.

By 1937, the global prohibition of cannabis was nearly complete with the USA adding itself to the growing list to enact prohibition of cannabis.
