On August 2 nd , Dr. Verbora wrote this must-read article titled Why Medical Cannabis May Be a Better Treatment Option for Chronic Pain Patients that clearly states:

Research suggests most patients using medical cannabis experienced a

significant decrease in the perception of pain. More systematic studies also indicated a reduction of inflammation in the body of these patients, suggesting cannabis was doing more than just playing with people’s perceptions of pain.

Although outside of the scope of my article’s content Dr. Verbora follows up that sentence with:

On the other hand, new literature emerging on opioids says they may not be as effective as people think they are. If medical cannabis is already perceived by some as being effective for the same conditions opioids are used to manage, it is possible it’s actually the superior treatment option for chronic pain patients. (Click Here for that article).

As an Investor, that is very powerful information to possess because although this article focussed on combining cannabis with diet and lifestyle to lessen chronic inflammation you also know that there is a growing body of evidence suggesting that cannabis may be the “superior treatment option for chronic pain patients” with respect to treating chronic pain with opioids. In other words, even if my own hypothesis proves to be nothing more than an interesting speculative read, we see this facet of cannabis being suggested as a preferred treatment option over conventional usage of opioids. The DEA in the USA just ordered a 500% increase in the Federal production of cannabis to combat the opioid crisis in that country. Now let’s speculate

once more and imagine if cannabis becomes the treatment option of choice for chronic pain patients and cannabis is shown to also contribute to reducing inflammation systemically when combined with a healthy diet and lifestyle. Time will tell and in the meantime keep imagining what a post-prohibition Canada may look like and the ROI it may bring to investors. And you also know that the global size of the potential Hemp industry dwarfs that of its cannabis cousin.
