Cannabis is Sexy! And that is according to Bloomberg specifically with respect to the recent MJBiz conference held in Toronto and of course your CannaInvestor Team was well represented. Patrick’s Moher’s article on this expo is a must read.
But something else happened in August. Something transformative. Constellation’s $5B investment in Canopy Growth for a potential 38% ownership (Constellation owned 9.9% already) stake validated some of the market caps we have seen recently. The market immediately recognized the value of several other large companies and the share prices responded in kind. It was just a few months ago that the Hucksters stated Canopy’s total market valuation of $6B was insanely high and yet here is a $5B investment for 28% of Canopy (9.9% already held). Canopy’s share price rose over 53% in just days.
