Hey CannaInvestor readers, it’s been a while. Conference season slowed down for most of the summer since Lift and O’Cannabiz, and that time gap was dedicated to bizdev. Conference season came back full force in mid-August with MJBizCon and Benzinga capital conference back to back. This canna conference wrap-up is to focus on findings from MJBizCon, a great time overall!

This was the first time MJBizCon had hosted an event in Toronto, and all things considered they seem to have knocked it out of the park! I say that in terms of what they wanted to bring to the table, they did. Professionally delivered, it was clinical and precise at most times, and very business to business. Information density with a good scattering of social outlets. Although it didn’t have the same personal vibes as the previous two, I don’t think it was intended to. I’ll bet the retail audience was easily under 5% of conference attendance, by design. This was a serious conference built for industry professionals and experts across many ancillary domains.

Another particular difference was different ratio of Americans / Canadians in attendance. The population shift was also apparent with show protocol and security … the show security was akin to passing customs at the airport. One lady I chatted
