We have discussed many times that the successful Retail Investor must be entrepreneurial. Much like running a successful business and to the investor this may translate to active day trading to traditional buy and hold. The successful Retail Investor using due diligence selects their portfolio and monitors it. An entrepreneur is also continuously monitoring looking for opportunities and knows when to change paths even if that means taking a loss (much line abandoning a business line).

Year to date (Aug 22), 2018 has thus far seen an overall fall in cannabis share prices but this may be reversing driven by the market valuation validation as evidenced by the $5B investment in Canopy Growth by Constellation Brands for an additional 28% of Canopy plus warrants allowing for an additional 13% stake for $4.5B. It was in December 2017 that we suggested it was a good time for investors to look at their portfolios and consider rebalancing. We reminded investors that no one ever lost money selling for profit. During 2018, it appears there has only been an increase in published material from paid promoters, short sellers, and perhaps worse – well-meaning hobbyists.

We also have been forward thinking, predictive, and ahead of the pack. How many other sources now have stock lists? How many added a stock list driven by revenues? A few eye brows raised when we predicted Health Canada would relax the rules to obtain a license and Health Canada did just that and announced it the day after our article was published.

In a recent USA article, I reminded readers more research and many more trials are needed but there is a growing list of medical conditions where cannabis has shown to be effective. According to Canada’s own Canabo Medical Clinic, the ten most common conditions that medical cannabis is prescribed for are:

1. Multiple Sclerosis

2. Spinal Cord Injury

3. Spinal Cord Disease

4. Cancer

5. HIV/AIDS

6. Arthritis

7. Epilepsy

8. Inflammatory Bowel Disease

9. End of Life Care

10. Insomnia
