“I look forward to putting away the analysis and detailed calculations,” Linton said, noting he prefers entrepreneurialism and management. “I get tired as a person trying to understand versus running something. If I’m in charge, I know exactly what I’m doing. I like knowing what the stakes are.”

Constellation Brands was not without their reasons for wanting Linton to leave in July. Canopy did not perform as expected and lost money. But this should be expected, since companies have hurdles to scaling due to the current legislative environment throughout the world. Canada's total population is only 38 million. Prior to leaving, Bruce had been planning the release of Canopy’s beverage-infused line.

Linton shows little bitterness over his departure rather seems philosophical about it. He said he’d been thinking a lot about his six years with Canopy in terms of what he learned and what he could have done better.

In addition, Linton has also been focusing on two software companies he has shares in; Ruckify and Martello.

Ruckify is designed to be an online marketplace which individuals

can rent a variety of home equipment instead of buying it. He

said that you would receive an item from a peer delivered by a

car-sharing service which you would then use, and a car sharing

service would then take the item back to its owner.
