Lift & Co.: We wouldn’t have medical cannabis or adult-use legalization as topics of conversation but for the many who risked their freedom to challenge the status quo. We’ve never lost sight of this nor will we. You’ll continue to see a representative mix across the Lift & Co. platform. Going forward, I expect the same groups will have momentum as we continue to mature legal cannabis. You may not agree with all of them but hats off to these folks. This industry wouldn’t exist without the activists.

CCIM: On the subject of these two industry steams (medical and recreational), do you believe we will see a THC cap on the recreational side or some other measure to ensure the sustainability of the medical industry (full benefits coverage and not just the limited coverage as currently proposed by Sunlife and others, etc)?

Lift & Co.: Unlikely. You’re competing with a mature black market that has an enviable breadth of product selection. A cap would slow down the rate at which black market consumers see value in transferring into the legal system. On the medical side, it’s like any other medicine. The right dosing is a personal need determined by the patient together with their health-care practitioner.

CCIM: Obviously, the Lift & Co. Expos are your flagship events. As the industry matures, what do you see as the future of such expos?

Lift & Co.: It’s also the flagship cannabis event in Canada. That’s because the cannabis industry is by definition an innovation and a successful tradeshow supports the conversations and momentum needed to spur innovation. Success for us in the future will mean continuing to provide consumers with an interesting and trusted environment to explore cannabis for the first or hundredth time, while providing the industry unique ways to connect. At the 2018 Toronto Expo for example, we’re launching an industry peer networking app people can use on-site. Going forward, you’ll see further integration with other Lift & Co. assets, such as our loyalty program and the Canadian
