Unfortunately, this is a volatile environment right now and information overload is common making it easy to slip in false information – like faulty code or a computer virus. There are alleged paid promoters purporting to be independent analysts and that only increases the noise that you need to filter. Usually the identity of the writer/author may be a clue of the level of trust that you can assign. Hiding behind aliases? Look for consistency in their published material and social media posts. If a company has stellar revenue growth do they reference that or only the fact the company posted a net loss? If the latter, do they report the net loss of every other company in the industry rather than positive news? If not, then there is quite possibly a motive behind their all too eager to share opinion/observation.

More than 100 earthquakes were detected on May 3rd – the day before the Kilauea volcano erupted near a residential area on Hawaii's largest island. Those earthquakes the day before are examples of foreshocks.
