Canada offers a unique opportunity because travellers can travel from one jurisdiction to another on their adventure not having to worry about the legal status at a national level (differences in legal age, distribution/sales, etc will vary between Provinces and Territories). In the USA, one cannot cross State lines in possession of cannabis. Furthermore, our Federal government has signalled an intent to legalize edibles (including beverages) in 2019. Some companies may already see the potential of the cannabis tourism industry and in particular in those provinces where private dispensaries will be legal. One such company just may be Inspiration Mining Company (CSE:ISM) with its planned M&A with Compassion Cannabis.

For the skeptics and those clinging to a belief that the black market will also prevail in the cannabis tourism industry I would suggest think again. As this article clearly demonstrates, for liability reasons as well as their reputation, those associated with the tourism industry will only will only want cannabis used on their premises sourced legally from Health Canada Licensed Producers through lawful distribution networks.
