Retail Investor's Perspective

Matt is no stranger to our subscribers being one of our founding writers and part of our industry leading team that is at your fingertips every month at no cost to yourself. This has always been one of your keys to successful investing through our anticipatory strategies and articles. For more articles and key information by one of Canada’s top law team in the industry – visit Canada Cannabis Legal. I was able to catch up to Matt for a few follow up questions I had based on that article.

Louis: Within a few years assuming edibles/beverages are legalized and a relaxing of the rules governing where one can consume cannabis (for example, allowing it in eligible or qualifying hotel room), do you foresee the potential for Canada to become a top Cannabis Tourist destination?

Matt: Absolutely. The expansion of the variety of products available to consumers, along with a legal location for consumption, whether that be a lounge or hotel room, creates huge potential for Canada to become a top cannabis tourist destination. Additionally, the fact that our dollar is historically valued less than the American dollar may make us a more desirable location than say Colorado or California.

Louis: Anyone considering entering this potential spill over industry may have an administrative and red tape mountain to claim. What advice would you give to those entrepreneurs as well as existing establishments that may are considering becoming a cannavacation destination of choice?

Matt: Get professional advice early. Learn what can be done, what can’t be done, and what might be changing in the foreseeable future. It is always a shame to see people invest lots of time and money into a business only to have to tell them after the fact that legally their business is not going to be viable. Learn the rules before you start the game.
