As we head into the final few months before the Cannabis Act (Bill C 45) becomes law, it will be incumbent, not only on medical cannabis patients, but also on the whole industry, investors included, to meet further with their Members of Parliament, their Senators and the appropriate Federal and Provincial Ministers, in solidarity with a patient’s right to accessible, affordable and safe medical cannabis. Not only will Justin Trudeau’s planned ‘sin tax’ cause further physical, emotional, and financial harm to already-suffering patients, but it may also deter significant medical and pharmaceutical R&D in such a way that investors consider moving away from the Canadian medical cannabis space.
