There also remains a belief that recreational THC and CBD amounts may be capped and/or that the top strains and cultivation techniques will be found primarily in the medical segment. This article indeed demonstrates that the medical applications for marijuana are only in its infancy. This article reinforces that simple truth.

Building on this …overall year to date poor job numbers (full time positions specifically) may suggest a prolonged period of Economic uncertainty and particularly in Ontario – our most populated province. Typically, we try to steer clear of politics in these pages but recent polls shows that “81% of Ontarians want (the) Liberal Government gone”. At this time, it appears that the Progressive Conservative Policy for cannabis distribution is that Doug Ford “wants free market for cannabis in Ontario”.

I have seen the effects of the drastic increase in minimum wage in Ontario first hand as I arrive at stores and restaurants at their traditional opening time only to find the doors locked and their hours changed. When I stop back later my “visit” is longer because of less staff. College and University aged students I know are advising of fewer summer jobs and those I know that work for minimum wage are advising of their hours being cut back. It is unfortunate that as a legal recreational adult market opens in Ontario that any employment on the distribution side in this sector may mirror that of Ontario’s LCBO. I use the word

“unfortunate” within the context of alleviating the province’s job numbers because there would be far more distribution locations in a private distribution model and would therefore employ more people although it needs to be

acknowledged that the fewer jobs in the Liberal model will likely be higher paid. It will be interesting to see the position that the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party leadership takes on this subject and how Ontarians will vote in the June election since it appears that it is the PC’s election to lose - as it has been for the past few elections and the PC record has been to rescue defeat from the clutches of victory every four years.
