My late father was in a retirement home and there was no smoking or vaping or cooking allowed. Alcohol was permitted and even in the common areas such as on Euchre, Bridge, or Movie night. In an aging population in a society that has accepted the dangers of smoking and vaping, do you see the aging population as a target market?

I cannot speak to the target markets of our individual members, but along the lines of your previous question, I believe the idea of non-combustible cannabis products will certainly be appealing to the elderly consumer with reservations about smoking or vaping.

palatable to those with existing lung health conditions, for example. I cannot speak to the formulations and innovative technologies our members have employed with respect to their individual products, but I believe their plans for delivery and product onset will definitely sit well with folks who have reservations about other product forms.

Now for the elephant in the room … ok .. there are more than one so let’s tackle them. There is already much concern over how some are mixing alcohol with energy drinks and doing so has the risk of adverse consequences. It is not legal to mix alcohol with THC in the same “beverage” but when someone has the two beverages – one in each hand … will the Alliance be acting also as an organization for education and awareness or is that out of scope?

The Alliance has no intention of advocating for the combination of alcohol and cannabis within the same product offering. That being said, some of our members come from the beverage alcohol sector and bring with them decades of experience educating consumers on highly regulated consumer goods. The Alliance will use this experience to advocate for the safe and responsible consumption of cannabis beverages and intends to act as a resource for consumers; directing them to existing, fact-based educational materials.
