Ok … Terry … there is a lot happening right now with Hill Street … the licensing arrangement with Lexaria Biosciences Inc (CSE:LXX) using their patented technology that not only ensures the flavour profile is exactly that of the core product (so beer and wine tastes like beer and wine!) as well as enhancing the bioavailability of cannabis. Before moving on to the connection with OneLeaf, how is the testing of the Lexaria tech proceeding …?
Extremely well. The tests results we have done have been nothing short of spectacular. Our products with or without the cannabis infusion using the Lexaria tech are indistinguishable. Consumers cannot tell the difference. Our infused beverages taste exactly like our alcohol-free beverages. There is no aroma or taste of cannabis, and that means we do not have to engineer the beverage around the taste of cannabis. An infused water tastes just like water.
When I wrote about beverages a few years ago (and many people thought I was way off advocating the future potential for hemp and cannabis beverages), Tinley Beverages Corp (CSE:TNY) was pre-production but at that time planned to launch a number of beverages with taste profiles mirroring alcohol counterparts. Unlike so many other beverages on the market, they would be free of additives such as corn syrup and other similar flavour masking agents – as someone with diabetes I am not looking to be drinking liquid corn syrup.
