OK … so hearing that …. How do you protect against a hemp farm 30kms away because spores can travel that distance?

Yes … there is a certain biosecurity needed and being able to develop those genetics that will need to be naturally resistant to some of the pests and pathogens that they will encounter in an outdoor setting is something that we will be working on as well. We use genetics to do this and using the power of genetic analysis allows us to do that … to characterize the cannabinoid synthase genes and the terpene synthase genes … we characterize the genes associated with growth and vigor – and by doing that we can ensure that the genetics are ideal for outdoor grow.

Yes and some have reported sports drifting upwards of 50km …. Contaminating pollen will be an issue when it comes to outdoor growing … by example, the last thing you want is for your purpose built high-CBD and low-THC cultivar to become contaminated by an X59 [editor – hemp] pollen. It is really going to come down to know what is growing around you and perhaps to even form an alliance with local farmers to better contain things.

Terry … sounds to me that being coop-erative and forming alliances is key to success ….
