GTEC: From its inception to today GreenTec Holdings has acquired 100% interest in four late stage applicants and one Licensed Producer. We also recently announced a joint venture with F-20 Developments. These deals have allowed us to create shareholder value by leveraging our cannabis expertise and head office functions across multiple growing operations.

CCIM: Cheers. A question I have been asked about GTEC is for clarification as to what GTEC is. According to your site it does say “Becoming a leading vertically integrated craft cannabis company” … can you advise on your model?

GTEC: GreenTec is striving for vertical integration within the cannabis eco-system, to help ensure its products are cultivated and sold with quality, care and consistency. Accordingly, our company is involved in cannabis cultivation, extraction, analytical testing and retail sales.

CCIM: Perfect! I believe those with that question perfectly understand your structure and model. Looking at your holdings, there are names our readers will recognize such as: Grey Bruce Farms. What caught my eye however was wholly owned Falcon Ridge Farms because we have been discussing “organic” over the past few issues. How do you see being “organic” being a differentiator or even a disruptor?

GTEC: Sales of organic products have grown steadily in recent years; moreover, organic products offer superior profit margins to non-organic products. Since GreenTec is a craft cannabis company, focused on producing high quality products, it makes sense for organic products to be part of our portfolio. Therefore, GreenTec is planning to become one of the first companies in Canada producing nationally certified organic cannabis.

CCIM: Who would you consider to be your major competitors?

GTEC: There are numerous players in the Canadian cannabis space, ranging from small micro-cultivators to large companies with multi-billion-dollar market caps. While we are competing with all of these companies, our primary direct competition would be those companies that are focused on craft cannabis and organic cannabis. This would include companies such as Whistler Medical, Broken Coast and Tilray.
