It seems like a bit of a pain to do all of this. And I’m not going to lie, it’s a bit of a hassle, and a bit of a mess. Cost wise, I paid about $140 for the cannabis, including the dreaded TAX on medical cannabis. That’s another topic for another day. Plus another $15 for the empty capsules for 1000 capsules, which I used 1/10th of, so around $1.50. All told, each pill cost me about $1.42, not accounting for the fixed sunk cost of the pill making kit. Is it worth it? Well, if we didn’t have any choice, yes. But some Canadian Licensed Producers have recognized this need. Progressive forward thinkers. So who are they? Compared to the total number of LPs with sales licenses, there aren’t many. Some offer capsules, such as CannTrust Holdings Incorporated (TSE:TRST; OTC:CNTTF; FRA:C9S), MedReleaf Corporation (TSE:LEAF; OTC:MEDFF; FRA:MEW), Tilray, Cannimed, and Canopy Growth Corporation (TSE:WEED; NYSE:CGC; FRA:11L1). While others offer decarboxylated dried cannabis, such as Aurora Cannabis Incorporated (TSE:ACB; OTC:ACBFF; FRA:21P) and Hydropothecary Corporation (TSE:HEXO; OTC:HYYDF; FRA:74H). Of course, many more offer cannabis oil, which can also be used, however, the price tag is much higher than dried cannabis.
