JWCA: Each plant, and every square foot of canopy, represents an increased risk of pathogen contamination and eventual crop loss. By increasing the size of a grow room, you increase the chance of pathogens causing crop loss, and the amount of crop you could lose through that process. This leads to a mathematical equation that suggests grow rooms of a certain size minimize crop loss and provide the best chance of producing high-quality product every time.

CCIM: You currently have seven strains available with three for patients. Can you advise on what that means? Is there a plan to introduce any more strains in the future?

JWCA: We are in the process of growing our first production crop of two new strains; Holy Grail Kush and Big Laughing. We expect that each will have more than 20% THC, with Holy Grail likely to exceed 25% THC. We are in the process of selecting the best phenotype from among our other 2 new strains, Cherry Diesel and Northern Kush, and we will have those market-ready in a few more months. It takes time to select a premium strain, but the result is worth it in the long run.

CCIM: Can you update our readers on the status of your retro-fitted facility that has capacity to produce 28,500 kg/yr? When do you expect to finalize this? And is the facility located on your current property? Can you advise of why the company has decided to lease this property instead of purchasing?

JWCA: Leasing a property is preferred because we completely retrofit any building, regardless of it’s age and design, so we are able to economically use a building that is pre-existing to our advantage. Leasing is a lower cost implementation, and allows us to use revenues to drive expansion, drastically reducing the amount of capital we need to raise to fully fund a new facility. We are about to move into main construction on phase 1 of our facility, and we will keep everyone updated as we go. We have a remarkably short build process, and we are proud to share the details as they unfold. We expect to complete the retrofit of the building in 2019, but we will be growing cannabis in the early phases long before then.
