When you attend enough concerts and events and by staying on top of what music festivals are playing, you may, on occasion, come across a connection to perhaps an LP or ancillary companies. Conceptually, if there is a Budweiser Stage in Toronto why can there not be a stage or venue tied to a Licensed Producer? However, concept and reality diverge in the world of Canadian legal cannabis. Cornerstone to the success of the end of prohibition is social and public acceptance and as such Governments are taking the slow as you go approach. Health Canada has recently reminded companies that such activities and sponsorships are prohibited (Click Here). This is about ushering in a new era that started in 2001 with the first license issued to CMED – an era now marked by the end of prohibition. An era where R&D will flourish and perhaps in time an array of safe, effective, affordable, accessible, and natural medicines and treatments could become available.

More provinces announced what LPs will have supply contracts and for investors the real news there may have been those LPs that were not granted one. Typically, I begin to dread the period after Thanksgiving leading up to early December when an aura of excitement and anticipation fill our household and community. Other than the fun we have decorating the house at Halloween, that period is typically filled with closing the pool, yardwork, and preparing for the long cold dark months ahead. But not this year as October 17th marks the end of a prohibition period that appears founded in something other than science, education, and good public policy.

This month’s issue is filled with must read content as our writer base continues to grow. The article written by Lexaria’s CEO Chris Bunka succinctly lays out what we can expect. Other content includes modern delivery methods such as capsules and beverages. Last month we discussed OGI and brought attention to their investment in Hyasynth Biologicals Inc and just what that could mean – subsequently, The Midas Letter interviewed CEO Greg Engel to discuss this and that interview can be accessed by clicking here.

Until next month, enjoy the summer nights and maybe in a year or two the expression cracking open a cold one will have a new meaning – maybe the May “24” weekend will meet its match. Invest long and

prosper friends.
