Legalization. Well its great, sort of. Has anything really changed? I mean, were your Christmas parties more subdued? Perhaps you had to buy more hors d'oeuvres. M&M Meat Shops must be lovin’ this! The built-in water dispenser on your refrigerator might need replacing earlier than you thought, perhaps? Mine costs $60 to replace; I’m sure Maytag is lovin’ this! Notice the cost of potato chips has gone up at your local gas station? No more 2 for $6 panic buys, nooooooooo … its now 2 for $7. They know! They know what is going on here. If you look outside the box a little, you will notice a myriad of regular, mundane, ho-hum things, are impacted or will be impacted by the legalization of cannabis in Canada. Direct correlation, probably not. But it makes you wonder.

Which is why the decision to opt-out of dispensary sales for many municipalities in and area the Greater Toronto Area, for example, is rather baffling. Under the Cannabis Act, municipalities can opt out, but a one-time decision has to be submitted before January 22nd.
