CCIM: What is the significance of the certified organic designation?

TGOD: This is huge for us. I’ve mentioned how important being organic is, being sustainable, community driven, environmentally friendly and green. An organic certification just takes it that much further and proves to the community that we are accomplishing what we set out to originally. It’s a very important seal of approval.

David Perron, our Vice President of Growing Innovation helped Whistler Medical Marijuana Corp. become one of two, at the time, organically certificated cannabis companies in the world. He’s since joined us, and has been working on the same process for us for some time now. This will be a large announcement and one that is very important to our business.

CCIM: We have seen a few cases over the past year or so where companies have been found to be using additives that are inconsistent with laws, best practices, and in some cases the “organic” certification designation. What Quality Control and Assurance programs are in place to ensure that the likelihood of such an occurrence happening at TGOD is as close to 0% as possible?

TGOD: We’ve now been growing for almost 1.5 years, and in that time we have completed 28 harvests and learned significantly. One thing to make note of is that there are pesticides everywhere in today’s world, especially in agricultural operations. That said, we have developed SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) that test everything. We test the pots for pesticides, we test the chemical levels in our fertilizer to make sure all inputs are consistent, and we test everything that comes into our facility to ensure we have done everything possible to reduce the chances for pesticides and any infestation at all. Additionally, we have hired arguably one of the top organic growers in the country, Mr. David Perron.

CCIM: What percentage of the medical and recreational market is TGOD anticipating capturing? From there, what percentage of the certified organic sub-market?

TGOD: This is tough to say as the market is changing so fast and growing so quickly. As it stands now we have so much demand for our organic product we won’t have trouble selling it. As we build out our two facilities to produce in excess of 116,000 kg’s of cannabis annually and build a brand synonymous with quality, customer service, and sustainability, we plan to control a large portion of both the overall recreational market, and by far the largest portion of the organic market. Don’t forget exports.
