Greetings and Happy February!
I love to hear record breaking numbers when it comes to key metrics in this industry such as year over year sales … public acceptance … demand … share price increases, M&A, etc. Funny how I think we can all agree we have had enough of record breaking frigid temperatures and snowfall amounts.
Last month I cautioned about following too closely the professional short sellers and their published opinion pieces that clearly state they do not guarantee that their work is even accurate and that the published material is really just an opinion piece and I did so specifically about Aphria. At that time, the share price of Aphria dipped below $5 and their Call Options were trading for pocket change. As I write this, the share price is $11.41. Imagine buying $8 Feb Calls for the change in your pocket. After reading our content dispelling the fog, perhaps you did just that and are getting ready to execute or close out those Calls (sell to close).
We expect this momentum to continue for a while longer fueled by continued global acceptance as awareness and education advances. You may recall that for years now I likened the ignorance of some about cannabis to the anti-vaccine movement. When the foundation of one’s beliefs are based on anything other than science, good judgment, common sense, and rational thinking … the house of cards start to fall. It is a tragedy that just as the western world re-discovers cannabis that some forget about the science and good that vaccines do. Washington State is under a state of emergency due to a measles outbreak and Alaska is on alert. Yes … the United States of America. So for those who believe that the USA will end prohibition at the federal level and you will recall I predicted this will happen when most believed it was far off … well, the success (if I can even use that term) of the anti-vaccine movement is proof that the right thing and the greater good can get lost and even set aside when misguided self-interest takes root.
Stay out of the cold and enjoy this month’s edition … we are, in my opinion, the global leaders in content for a publication of our nature for good reason.
