What does limited success at small local poker games and tournaments have to do with the luck of selecting “tie” instead of “win” on the soccer game let alone the success that the Golden Knights are enjoying? And what do either have to do with the success of the anticipatory forwarding looking content of CannaInvestor Magazine? As for bluffing and using the timing and size of bets as a comparator to market manipulation techniques I would suggest in a poker tournament the object is to win and there must be losers and in fact a disproportionate number of losers to winners. To say it plainly, poker is a game. The sports tickets have nothing to do with anything and serves only to act as misdirection. So what does any of that have to do with investing in the legal cannabis industry? If you said nothing … you are on the right track. But how you rank any of those, or similar events, to an investment strategy will reveal much about your own risk profile.

Does betting on a top team on a hot streak not seem the same as investing in a hot stock based solely on a tip during a period when its share price is ramping up? How about short selling a stock that is in the midst of a bearish decline? A good poker player can almost always win in games against opponents far less experienced – but on occasion lose on a bad beat against an opponent who really had no business being in the hand. Social media and bulletin board characters then use their successes to validate their knowledge and why you (yes you!) need to follow them and follow their stock recommendations. Remember always, they are “in” before they start their routine and they are “out” before they tell their followers to move on to the next target.
