Marapharm is a rather interesting company that has investments being made in Nevada, Washington, California and British Columbia. This company is not as well known as some of the other names out there and perhaps it would be in your best interest to put this in perspective when you compare and reevaluate your portfolio. In fact, this is what I would like to discuss with you just now. Perspective. No, not you life choices. Although…..never mind I won’t go there. However, we will talk about visual perspective on the chart. Specifically Logarithmic (log) vs Linear.

Don’t run away. I promise I am not going to lecture you about the mathematical differences between Log and linear. I will roll this up as high level as possible so that you are aware of what you might be looking at the next time you glance at a graph. I bring this up because some charting sites/programs use linear as their default while others use log. So if you never knew what the difference was and how it may alter your what you are viewing sit back and relax; It’s rather simple. A Linear chart simply displays the candles in proportion to the other candles without making any adjustments. You are simply seeing the raw visual difference between the price fluctuations of each candle. When we move over to log scale then we are shifting the visual so that as you move up in prices on the graph the same change in actual price will appear differently. What you should use will depend on your preference. However my preference of the two is to use linear scale to help identify shorter term movements while log can help identify longer time frame movements as it helps keeps recent price fluctuations in perspective. As an example from Marapharm we can see the that the linear chart appears to be a bit more choppier than the log chart. From the log chart we can see that the prices did soar and more or less seem to be in a longer term consolidation period. I hope this helps give you some charting perspective.
