Why is this of interest in the cannabis industry? Well we’ve seen Constellation Brands recently take a sizable stake in Canopy Growth Corporation, and bringing in their guidance and expertise in the functional beverage market to the cannabis world. Perhaps for a future THC or CBD infused drink line? There is potential for the same type of synergies in the pet product market.
There are a few, not many, players in the publicly traded cannabis space that offer products for our four-legged friends. The reach and size of these well-established organizations are well aware of the trends in the industry, and CBD-infused and hemp-based pet products, is getting a sizable amount of buzz. Perhaps we will witness the same type of investment and partnership as we’ve seen with Constellation Brands and Canopy Growth Corporation as these pet products gain in popularity.
