Good Morning Whitney and thank you taking the time to answer a few questions so that our readers can get to know you a little bit better. Tell us about your education and your role at Minden Gross?

Good morning and thank you for the opportunity! I wa s born and raised in Toronto, and completed my undergraduate studies in London at the University of Western Ontario where I earned my BA degree with an Honours specialization in Media, Information and Technoculture. I then went on to my legal studies at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. After articling at Minden Gross LLP, I became an Associate in the Cannabis Law group. I also practice commercial litigation and look forward to the inevitable onslaught of cannabis litigation on the horizon, in addition to my current regulatory and business practice.

First of all, thank you so much for all that you do for the industry and for your monthly must-read articles. How important is it for you to stay on top of this industry and ensuring that reliable and trust worthy information is available?

It’s my business to be on top of things and my clients and colleagues trust that I know the most up to date information and regulatory changes, and that I am also keeping them up to date with reliable information. With that, I need reliable and trustworthy information to share. Part of finding that information is knowing where to look, who to ask, and who to trust. I am fortunate to have this figured out and that I myself can contribute to the pool of information available through writing for CannaInvestor and other publications on a regular basis. I often tout an important piece of advice for those entering the industry - to not only “walk the walk” but to “talk the talk.” This industry, like many others, has its own language.
